Job Summary
The Mechanic Technician performs mechanical repairs required as part of the collision repair process and helps restore vehicles to safe, pre-accident operating condition. This role diagnoses, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles mechanical systems while following OEM procedures, approved repair plans, and industry standards. The technician works closely with estimators, body technicians, and production leadership to complete quality repairs efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Inspect collision-damaged vehicles and plan required mechanical repairs.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, suspension, steering, cooling, HVAC, and related vehicle systems within demonstrated skill level.
Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble components according to approved repair plans and OEM procedures.
Communicate repair status, additional damage, and mechanical concerns to the production and estimating teams.
Make repair-versus-replace recommendations based on safety, cost, and cycle time.
Perform quality checks and road-test or verify repairs when authorized and appropriate.
Participate in daily production meetings and coordinate work with body, paint, and parts teams.
Maintain required I-CAR, company safety, and technical training.

Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of professional automotive mechanical repair experience required.
Previous experience performing mechanical repairs in a collision repair environment required.
Strong knowledge of manufacturer repair procedures and modern vehicle mechanical systems.
ASE training required; ASE certification preferred.
Ability to diagnose and repair suspension, steering, cooling, HVAC, and related systems associated with collision repairs.
Ability to read repair plans, follow OEM procedures, and document additional repair needs.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
