Description Overview

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted partner to employees and leaders within the Perrigo Oral Care Division, providing comprehensive HR support across employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, onboarding, engagement, training, compliance, and HR operations. This role helps drive a positive employee experience while ensuring alignment with Perrigo's values, business objectives, and employment practices.

The HR Generalist collaborates closely with managers and cross-functional stakeholders to support organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee development initiatives in a manufacturing and corporate environment.

The candidate selected to fill this role will be based at our Kentwood, Michigan facility.

Scope of the Role
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR-related inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and support regarding workplace policies, procedures, employee concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct investigations related to employee relations matters and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leaders to address performance, attendance, and behavioral concerns.
  • Support recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer processes.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring.
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding activities for new employees.
  • Help ensure a positive candidate and new hire experience.
  • Support annual performance management processes and goal-setting activities.
  • Coach managers on performance conversations and employee development plans.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating learning initiatives.
  • Promote career development and succession planning efforts.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy within HR information systems.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and HR metrics analysis.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR programs, practices, and procedures.
  • Support leave management, accommodation processes, and employee documentation as needed.
  • Support annual compensation planning activities.
  • Partner with employees and managers regarding benefit-related questions and resources.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
  • Assist in analyzing employee feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain, and functional leaders to support business objectives.
  • Assist with organizational changes, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Experience Required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Experience supporting employees in a manufacturing, operations, or regulated environment preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders at various organizational levels.
  • Effective organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret HR data and trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
