Job Description
Responsible for performing advanced mortgage servicing functions, including file auditing, mortgage funding, closing and post-closing operations, escrow administration, loan modifications, compliance monitoring, and member service. Utilizes knowledge of mortgage closing processes and real estate title documentation to review loan files, resolve title-related issues, ensure funding accuracy, and support regulatory compliance. Serves as a key resource by analyzing complex issues, identifying process improvements, collaborating with internal and external partners, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the loan lifecycle. Successful analysts demonstrate strong analytical skills, independent decision-making, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional member experience.
Requirements:Education A high school education or GED.
Experience: Three to five years in a financial institution. Preferred three years of consumer and/or mortgage lending experience, including processing, underwriting, or booking loans. Two or more years in the title insurance industry in lieu of lending experience is acceptable.
Interpersonal: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Must be able to coordinate information between members and loan officers in an organized fashion.
Other Skills:
General: The ability to listen to and comprehend member and co-worker needs; the ability to resolve member and co-worker problems efficiently and appropriately; and the ability to work in a team environment, exchanging ideas and coming to consensus with individuals from other departments and geographic areas are preferred characteristics. Very good communication skills and organizational skills are required. Use of standard English grammar, punctuation, and spelling in written communications are vital to this position.
Technical: Proficiency in the use of a personal computer to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook (including organization tools such as calendar, task reminders, etc.) and ability to use web and web-based applications; proficiency in the use of a 10-key calculator; keyboarding 45 wpm; basic experience with Spectrum and Teller Advantage, Loans PQ, and Calyx Path. Understanding of governmental regulations for financial institutions. The ability to produce a high volume of accurate work in a timely manner.
Leadership: Critical thinking skills are also of high importance. Incumbents must use critical thinking skills to clearly understand member requests by email or chat and determine the best course of action to solve issues accurately and conveniently for members.
Industry: The ability to describe and sell appropriate products and services to members; self-motivation to complete job tasks to the best of personal ability; eagerness to learn new information in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to apply new information as appropriate. Understanding of loan underwriting concepts and lending risks. Understanding of personal financial statements, cash flow, and tax returns are preferred.
