This role is a blend of technical leadership, client advisory, and team development within the evolving energy interconnection space. You will lead a team of engineers supporting complex transmission and generation interconnection studies, while also guiding clients through regulatory and technical challenges across the SERC region. The position combines hands-on technical involvement with strategic oversight, requiring the ability to translate complex power systems concepts into actionable decisions. You will play a key role in strengthening delivery quality, mentoring engineers, and improving internal processes to scale team performance. At the same time, you will engage directly with clients and stakeholders, helping shape solutions that accelerate critical energy infrastructure projects. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of engineering, strategy, and customer success in the energy transition ecosystem.
Lead engineering teams and client-facing initiatives focused on interconnection studies, ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and strong stakeholder alignment across all projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering accountability, technical growth, and a high-performance culture
- Provide hands-on support in complex interconnection studies and troubleshooting when required
- Oversee project delivery quality, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical standards
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients navigating interconnection processes across the SERC region
- Translate complex technical findings into clear insights that support client decisions and project advancement
- Improve internal delivery frameworks, QA/QC processes, and engineering best practices
- Support proposal development, RFP responses, and identification of new service opportunities
You are an experienced engineering leader with strong technical grounding in power systems and the ability to operate at the intersection of engineering execution and client strategy.
- 4+ years of experience in the electric energy industry, ideally in transmission planning or interconnection studies
- Strong understanding of power system analysis and tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, or PowerWorld
- Experience working with interconnection requirements within SERC or similar utility environments
- Proven ability to connect technical depth with commercial and strategic decision-making
- Strong leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and leading technical teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment under uncertainty
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Experience with utilities or consulting in the energy sector is highly valued
