Are you an experienced dispatcher that is looking for a great opportunity? We’re searching for someone who can coordinate schedules, support drivers, and keep our team moving with confidence and accuracy.
Schedule would be: 4 day week with one weekend day (Weekend hours 4:30a-4:30p; weekday hours 7:30a-5:30p)
Job Summary:
Will perform a variety of assignments relating to scheduling a large fleet of fuel trucks and drivers. Includes Resolution of transportation and customer conflicts, orders, and balances of inventory and cost control. This is a high function position in a fast paced, frequently changing environment. This position requires continuous phone and computer work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule or dispatch drivers to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
- Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, or requests for service or equipment.
- Monitor personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
- Receive or prepare work orders.
- Relay work orders, messages, or information to or from work crews, supervisors, or field inspectors, using telephones, computer or two-way radios.
- Record and maintain files or records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, or other dispatch information.
- Prepare daily work and run schedules.
- Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications.
- Advise personnel about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards.
- Arrange for necessary repairs to restore service and schedules.
Education and Skills Requirements
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- 2+ years of prior dispatch experience
- Fluent Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with familiarity of Access, or other similar database software
- Able to work independently, as well as work with the Team
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and strong attention to detail are required
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
- Able to bend, stand, walk, sit
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer including keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
