What is the Role?
As the Senior Marketing Associate for Chicago, you will help shape how we tell Intersection’s story across one of the country’s most dynamic media markets. You’ll play a key role in positioning our products, the market, and support a high-performing sales team with strategic, creative, and data-driven marketing solutions that drive revenue.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, local Sales leadership, and our creative team to develop compelling stories, materials, and pitches that capture the energy and influence of Chicago. This position is based in our Chicago office and is part of our national Marketing organization.
What you will accomplish:
In the first three months, you will:
- Serve as the point person for media RFPs, providing strategic, creative, and logistical support to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Lead the creation of sales and marketing materials, proposals, and collateral that reflect Chicago’s unique media landscape.
- Craft compelling narratives and marketing stories to elevate client pitches and presentations.
- Collaborate with Marketing Leads across markets on special projects that support national and local sales goals.
Within the first year, you will:
- Partner with Chicago Sales Director to align marketing strategy with business objectives, ensuring all tactics contribute to revenue growth.
- Develop and maintain collateral that speaks to the Chicago media landscape—including audiences, key neighborhoods, events, and cultural moments—to inform marketing strategy and client storytelling.
- Help create national media plans, and position Chicago as a key anchor market within them.
- Work cross-functionally to develop new advertising products, building go-to-market strategies from concept to launch.
- Analyze market health and performance data to proactively identify opportunities and improve revenue outcomes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitive media and position Intersection effectively within the Chicago market.
- Share insights and best practices with Marketing Managers in other regions to drive collaboration and consistency.
You're a great fit for this role because:
- 3–5+ years of relevant marketing experience; agency or media experience required; out-of-home (OOH) experience a plus. Management experience a plus.
- Deep understanding of the Chicago media landscape—including audience behaviors, cultural trends, neighborhoods, and events.
- Strong knowledge of AI, automation, and emerging creative tools/technologies, with the ability to integrate them into storytelling and workflow.
- Proven ability to support and collaborate with high-functioning sales teams; experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- A self-starter with a proactive, outgoing, and entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable taking initiative and driving projects forward.
- Exceptionally creative and strategic storyteller, able to craft compelling narratives supported by data and insights.
- Excellent writing, organization, and presentation skills; writing sample required with resume.
- Strategic and analytical thinker with a passion for cities, media, and audience behavior.
- Positive, solutions-oriented attitude and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
Salary Expectations: $65,000 - 80,000
