This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to oversee large-scale capital projects across a regional manufacturing network. The role focuses on planning, developing, and executing complex initiatives that improve operational performance, efficiency, and long-term growth. You will lead projects from initial concept through commissioning while managing budgets, schedules, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Working closely with operations, engineering, and finance stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives. This position is ideal for a project engineering leader who thrives in industrial environments and enjoys driving impactful improvements at scale.
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of capital projects across a regional network of manufacturing facilities.
- Manage multi-million-dollar capital expenditure programs, ensuring effective allocation of resources, budget control, and successful project delivery.
- Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and site leadership teams to prioritize initiatives and establish project strategies.
- Oversee projects from concept development through commissioning, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Direct external engineering firms, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers throughout project planning and execution phases.
- Implement structured project management practices, including scope definition, risk management, cost control, scheduling, and change management.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to project engineers and supporting team members.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to minimize operational disruption during project implementation.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize engineering processes and project execution strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
- 12+ years of experience managing large-scale capital projects within food manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or similar environments.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in capital project management, including budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and project execution.
- Strong experience managing engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industrial safety practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining focus on quality, safety, and business objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions in dynamic operational environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%, including occasional overnight travel.
- Competitive salary range of $130,000 – $140,000.
