HOURS & SALARY: Part-time, 20 hours per week, with a hiring range of $14.89 – $18.61 per hour depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide front-line customer service to patrons in person and by phone, assisting with library accounts, materials, questions, general needs and directions.
2. Perform circulation and materials handling functions including check-in and check-out, shelving, processing daily notifications to the public, and maintaining collections.
3. Assist patrons with library technology and equipment, including public computers, self-check kiosks, copiers, and meeting room audiovisual equipment.
4. Support access to collections through readers’ advisory, basic reference assistance, pulling materials for branches, and maintaining first-floor readiness.
5. Protect patron confidentiality, and complete other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Six months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Working knowledge of common computer software and library systems.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently with attention to detail and good task prioritization.
· Accurate data entry and filing skills.
· Ability to use sound judgment and follow established procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedules are predominantly office hours but will also include evenings and weekends. Employees must be available to work anytime the library is open.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position requires moving moderately heavy materials such as carts, boxes, files, and library materials, and standing or walking for extended periods.
