The Impact You'll Make in This Role
As an Automation Technician, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while collaborating with a cross-functional team to improve efficiency, quality, and production performance. In this role, you will:
- Support the commissioning, qualification, and implementation of automation systems and projects.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve automation, robotics, and controls-related issues.
- Develop, maintain, and improve automation processes and procedures.
- Manage and support site automation standards while ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
- Interface with equipment suppliers, integrators, and internal stakeholders on automation initiatives.
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, robotics systems, and integrated manufacturing equipment.
- Analyze existing processes and recommend automation improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Build strong working relationships with leadership and production employees to support a high-quality customer experience.
- Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and automation standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Controls, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with PLC programming, robotics programming, automation systems, or systems integration.
- Experience interfacing automation and robotic systems with manufacturing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and improve automated systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are not required but may help you succeed in this role:
- Experience in plastics manufacturing or injection molding environments.
- Experience with GMP, ISO 9001, and/or ISO 13485 standards.
- Experience with vision inspection systems.
- Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, or similar automation platforms.
- Experience supporting manufacturing automation projects from concept through implementation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods of time.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and machinery while following all safety procedures.
