Material Handler- 2nd Shift in Rumford, Rhode Island at Igus Bearings Inc

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position receives, stores and distributes product within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Transports product to and from designated areas in the facility

-Ensure proper storage and retrieval

-Consolidation of product in location

-Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility

-Return overstock to proper locations and stock checks

-Renter shipment into igus system

-Stack goods in the correct locations by following inventory control instructions

-Check loads are secure

-Stack empty pallets

-Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery

-Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards

-Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations

-Perform other duties as requested by Team Leader, Production Supervisor or Manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

-Manual dexterity and good eyesight are required

-Frequently lift up to 50 pounds

-Adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time

-Having good eye-hand-foot coordination

-Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights

-Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season

REQUIREMENTS:

-High school diploma or GED required

-Prefer candidates with forklift operation experience

-Reliable attendance record

-Ability to work in a fast paced environment

-Must be available and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to satisfy customer needs

-Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required

-High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment

-Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records

-Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner

-Maintain a clean & safe environment
