Respiratory Care Tech - Student Opportunity in Bolivar, Missouri at Citizens Memorial

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Respiratory Care Technician to provide exceptional care for our patients in our Respiratory Care Department. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. About the department: The Respiratory Care Department sets a high standard for patient care and seeks to provide timely and quality respiratory therapies to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients under medical supervision. Respiratory therapy services include oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, aerosol therapy, and diagnostic testing.

A typical day includes: Performing patient care duties under the direction of licensed personnel utilizing equipment, supplies, and procedures appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations for all subsequent duties.

• Assists with patient assessments by collecting patient data and recording and reporting findings
• Responds promptly to patient/staff requests for assistance
• Assures patient comfort measures are met by performing frequent rounding and anticipating patient needs
• Gives and receives patient reports in an accurate and timely manner

Job Requirements:

• Education: Must be currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program with an accredited institution
• Experience: No experience needed. We provide on-the-job training! CNA experience is preferred.
• Skills: Communication skills, attention to detail, flexibility, teamwork
• Licensure/Certification: N/A
• Physical: Ability to work at a fast pace with about 90% of the day consisting of walking/ standing

This position is PRN to work with student's class schedule
