This role offers an opportunity to lead the architecture and modernization of enterprise cybersecurity data platforms supporting large-scale federal operations.
You will design secure, scalable data pipelines and integrations across cloud and on-premises environments.
The position combines cybersecurity, data engineering, cloud architecture, DevSecOps, and enterprise technology modernization.
You will help strengthen data governance, security, observability, and compliance across complex technical environments.
The role also provides technical leadership through solution architecture, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will contribute to analytics and executive reporting that turn complex security data into actionable operational insights.

- Architect and modernize enterprise data platforms supporting large-scale cybersecurity operations across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines capable of integrating structured and unstructured data from multiple enterprise systems.
- Lead architecture modernization initiatives, transitioning legacy platforms toward secure, scalable, cloud-enabled data solutions.
- Develop secure REST APIs and enterprise integrations that enable high-volume data exchange and interoperability between systems.
- Establish and improve DevSecOps and CI/CD practices to automate deployments, strengthen release quality, and support multi-environment hosting.
- Optimize database performance, data models, and platform scalability to support terabytes of daily data processing and thousands of concurrent users.
- Implement data governance, quality, security, and observability standards aligned with FISMA, RMF, NIST, and other applicable federal requirements.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including solution architecture, engineering mentorship, technical direction, and cross-functional coordination.
- Develop executive dashboards, analytics, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights for senior leadership and operational decision-making.
- Support business development and proposal activities by developing technical solutions, architecture documentation, proof-of-concepts, and RFP/RFI responses.
- Contribute to cybersecurity operations, including incident response workflows, detection tuning, malware analysis processes, vulnerability management, and security data correlation.
- Support SOP lifecycle management and configuration standardization across enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders using tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to facilitate communication, documentation, and knowledge management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of relevant experience; alternatively, up to 8 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.
- Ability to pass a Tier 4 / High Background Investigation.
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal healthcare environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of enterprise cybersecurity, data platforms, data integration, and secure systems architecture.
- Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud services, cloud security principles, virtualization, and containerization.
- Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB structures, workflow processes, and enterprise operational ticketing environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise Web Application Firewall technologies and SIEM platforms, including security data correlation workflows.
- Experience with vulnerability and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CISA, OMB, and FedRAMP.
- Understanding of incident response workflows, detection tuning, malware analysis, SOP management, and enterprise configuration standardization.
- Ability to work effectively with enterprise data, security, and infrastructure teams in complex technical environments.
- Strong professional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to accept direction and contribute constructively to a team.
- High accountability, reliability, responsiveness, and ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and technical leadership skills.
- Salary: $85,730–$98,500 annually, with the final offer determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and other relevant factors.
