Container Closing Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Container Closer to support our fast-paced e-commerce 3PL warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ensuring outbound containers, trailers, and shipments are properly loaded, secured, documented, and closed out accurately before dispatch. The ideal candidate thrives in a warehouse environment, works efficiently under deadlines, and maintains high standards for accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities
· Verify all outbound orders are fully picked, packed, and staged before container closeout
· Inspect containers/trailers for cleanliness, damage, and load readiness
· Confirm pallet counts, carton quantities, SKU accuracy, and shipment documentation
· Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, loaders, carriers, and inventory teams
· Seal and close containers according to company and carrier procedures
· Record seal numbers, trailer numbers, shipment details, and dispatch times
· Ensure proper load balancing and securement standards are followed
· Use WMS/TMS systems to complete shipment confirmations and status updates
· Troubleshoot loading discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary
· Maintain compliance with warehouse safety and operational procedures
· Support dock scheduling and outbound flow during peak shipping periods
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· 1+ year of warehouse, shipping, logistics, or 3PL experience preferred
· Experience in e-commerce fulfillment operations is a plus
· Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
· Good communication and teamwork abilities
· Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move packages throughout shifts
Preferred Skills
· Knowledge of LTL/FTL shipping procedures
· Understanding of inventory control and shipment verification
· Forklift or pallet jack experience preferred
· Experience with Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, or other e-commerce fulfillment operations
· Basic computer and scanning device proficiency
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently (50+ with team lift)
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
· Comfortable working in warehouse temperatures and dock environments
Schedule
· Full-time
· Weekend and overtime availability during peak seasons may be required
