The ideal candidate needs a growth mindset that proactively seeks out to solve new and difficult welding engineering challenges.
Effective communication skills are critical in this role as you will interface across all levels of EMD and customer organizations, both verbally and in written correspondence. Additionally, you will provide technical support and directions to a skilled labor force and Weld Development Lab Technicians.
Due to the nature of the work done at EMD and the ever-evolving materials available in this position, candidate will be involved with identifying new and improving welding processes and techniques.
This involves developing and managing material joining work plans, detailing schedules, and resource requirements to meet goals and deadlines.
Role requires collaborating with design and manufacturing engineering counterparts to resolve joining issues while providing technical support to all involved parties.
Actively interact and participate in meetings to support engineering, manufacturing and program management. To assist in the review of supplier qualifications and procedures or provide support for audits.
Prior experience leading and mentoring other engineers in areas of expertise to facilitate growth and continual improvement is preferred.

What you bring:

Degrees in Metallurgy, or Materials Science with Welding Engineering experience will also be considered. Advanced degrees in these disciplines are desired.
