This senior-level, part-time remote role sits at the intersection of acoustics, intelligence analysis, and advanced research leadership.
You will guide mission-critical programs focused on acoustic signatures and their application to national security and defense operations.
The position involves shaping research strategy across multidisciplinary teams working on cyber, SIGINT, and technical intelligence initiatives.
You will contribute to the integration of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics into operational intelligence frameworks.
The environment is highly collaborative, involving coordination with government sponsors, research scientists, and technical experts.

- Lead and shape strategic research programs in acoustic intelligence, focusing on defense and intelligence applications.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and analysts working on advanced acoustics and SIGINT initiatives.
- Direct research portfolios and ensure alignment with Navy, DoD, and Intelligence Community priorities.
- Integrate emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics into intelligence systems.
- Develop proposals, white papers, and technical documentation for funded research initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with government sponsors and external research partners.
- Represent the organization in high-level technical forums and collaborative defense research discussions.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 15+ years of experience in technical intelligence, intelligence operations, or national security environments.
- Proven experience in technical and strategic leadership roles within complex research programs.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain at least a Secret-level U.S. government security clearance.
- Strong background in acoustics, SIGINT, or defense-related research domains.
- Experience working with government research sponsors and understanding proposal development processes.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior researchers.
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing and stakeholder engagement.
- U.S. citizenship required.
