JOB TITLE: Store Manager

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

STATUS: Full-Time Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Store Manager is responsible for the effective and safe operation of the MRM Bargain Center. The Store Manager provides supervision, oversight and management to generate revenues to support MRM programs and services. This position manages staff and volunteers, oversees sales, donations of merchandise, store promotions, and store procedures. The Store Manager ensures staff is providing quality customer service and monitors the financial performance of the store to achieve sales goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. General Store Oversight:
2. Follow MRM core values, mission, and safety guidelines to align Bargain Center operations.
3. Ensure that areas of operation are adequately staffed and are safely and effectively operating.
4. Establish, communicate, and train on Standard Operational Procedures for each area.
5. Ensure proper security and management of all store property and leased facilities.
6. Responsible for the physical building, lot, vehicles, warehouses, and equipment, ensuring sound working order.
7. Communicate and collaborate with Finance Director and Maintenance to ensure upkeep of facility.
8. Establish, in collaboration with Finance Director, strategic goals, budgets, and standards of operation.
9. Maintain a safe, healthy and orderly environment for all staff and customers; provide safety reminders as appropriate.
10. Administrative Oversight:
11. Provide leadership and retail training and management for the Bargain Center.
12. Administer MRM policies and procedures as they pertain to the Bargain Center Operations.
13. Define and implement processes and procedures including but not limited to: donation pick up and processing; store opening and closing; cash handling; and reconciliations and deposits.
14. Keep records of monthly sales quotas, production quotas, budget goals and surplus goals.
15. Complete and submit reporting as defined, required, and requested.
16. Staffing Oversight:
17. Promote spiritual growth and encouragement among staff.
18. Lead weekly devotions with staff.
19. Work in conjunction with HR to hire staff including training, scheduling, supervision, evaluation, discipline, and separation.
20. Maintain schedule for coverage and leave for staff. Review and approve general scheduling and leave requests.
21. Supervise and /or assign supervision of volunteers, community service workers, and track and report their hours accordingly.

1. Financial Oversight:
2. Follow annual income and expense budget.
3. Review and approve daily, weekly and month-end reporting. Complete and submit reporting.
4. Ensure timely reporting of financial information to Finance Director.
5. Manage and approve expenditures for Bargain Center.
6. Set pricing parameters for items and review prior to placement on sales floor.
7. Revisit and revise price lists.
8. Communication Oversight
9. Communicate the vision, mission and objectives of MRM to staff, customers and community.
10. Participate in open and full communication with MRM leadership to ensure adequate support when and as needed.
11. Provide MRM leadership and Bargain Center staff with adequate information to help them reach sound decisions and implement/uphold MRM policies.
12. Demonstrate, promote and facilitate excellent customer service and interpersonal communications including dispute/conflict resolution, problem-solving and teamwork.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has supervisory responsibilities over Store Coordinators, staff, drivers, and volunteers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management preferred.
• Five+ years direct experience in retail environment or experience in a related field, with increasing levels of responsibilities.
• Three+ years of Management/Supervision experience.
