Position Overview
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the daily operation, leadership, and financial performance of the store. This position helps ensure the store operates in accordance with all Lynn’s Inc. & Affiliates policies, procedures, and operational standards while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
The Assistant Store Manager reports to the Store Manager and assists in supervising store personnel, maintaining store facilities, and supporting company programs and initiatives.
In some situations, depending on store size and operational needs, the Assistant Store Manager role may be structured to focus primarily on either operational responsibilities or administrative responsibilities, as determined by the Store Operations Manager or corporate leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Store Operations Support
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations.
- Ensure store operations follow company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain proper inventory control to balance product purchases with customer demand.
- Support store performance goals and operational objectives.
Leadership & Team Supervision
- Assist in supervising store employees and department managers.
- Support recruiting, hiring, training, and development of store personnel.
- Provide guidance and supervision to positions including stock crew, courtesy clerks, cashiers, receiving staff, office personnel, and maintenance staff.
- Promote accountability and professional conduct among employees.
- Participate actively in the duties and responsibilities of the teams being supervised.
Merchandising & Store Standards
- Ensure merchandising programs, product displays, and pricing standards are implemented according to company expectations.
- Monitor stock conditions and ensure shelves are properly stocked and maintained.
- Support department managers in maintaining product quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure store merchandising and promotional programs are executed effectively.
POS & Financial Controls
- Support supervision of point-of-sale (POS) systems and front-end operations.
- Ensure accurate pricing, promotional execution, and POS coordination.
- Monitor proper handling of cash, checks, and other company assets.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company financial procedures.
Receiving & Inventory Coordination
- Supervise receiving procedures and ensure proper processing of invoices and product deliveries.
- Ensure receiving operations follow company policies and system requirements.
- Support inventory accuracy and product tracking.
Customer Service Excellence
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of customer service within the store.
- Encourage employees to provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer interactions.
- Assist in resolving customer concerns promptly and effectively.
Strategic & Organizational Support
- Assist the Store Manager in achieving store financial and operational goals.
- Support company programs, initiatives, and store-specific objectives.
- Maintain strong communication with store leadership, corporate management, vendors, and employees.

Compliance & Company Standards
- Ensure compliance with and follow all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines outlined in the Lynn’s Inc. & Affiliates Primary Policy Manual.
- Maintain confidentiality of company operational data, financial information, and business practices.
- Support compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure store safety and security procedures are followed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager or corporate leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience in grocery retail operations or retail leadership preferred.
- Strong understanding of store operations, merchandising, and inventory management.
- Demonstrated leadership and employee supervision skills.
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
