Job Description

Creative Director for Events

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Creative Director for Events based in the United States.

This is a senior creative leadership opportunity focused on shaping memorable, high-impact experiences for complex corporate events. You will serve as the creative architect from initial concept and narrative through final onsite delivery. The role combines experiential design, brand strategy, spatial storytelling, and emerging AI-powered creative tools. You’ll translate business objectives into immersive event journeys spanning stages, digital experiences, technology, and physical environments. As a high-level individual contributor, you’ll work closely with clients, production partners, and specialized creative talent to bring ambitious concepts to life. The ideal environment is collaborative, fast-moving, and deeply focused on delivering exceptional client experiences.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the creative vision and overall aesthetic direction for complex corporate events, from initial ideation and pitching through final delivery and onsite execution.
  • Translate client business objectives and brand strategies into compelling event concepts, narratives, themes, and guest experiences.
  • Develop AI-enhanced visual concepts, mood boards, photorealistic renderings, and guest-journey visualizations using tools such as Midjourney, DALL-E, Adobe Firefly, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Use large language models such as Gemini and Claude to develop event themes, scripts, messaging frameworks, and cohesive communications.
  • Ensure brand consistency across every physical and digital touchpoint, including registration environments, event websites, breakout spaces, stage design, and main-stage experiences.
  • Conceptualize spatial and multimodal experiences that combine physical environments with digital layers such as AR, spatial computing, interactive LED, lighting, and other event technologies.
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles and propose creative approaches that prioritize circularity and reduce environmental impact.
  • Partner directly with senior client stakeholders, including marketing leaders, to articulate creative strategies and demonstrate how experiential concepts support business objectives.
  • Coordinate and direct specialized external creative talent, including 3D renderers, motion designers, AI artists, and other freelancers.
  • Collaborate closely with production, technology, sales, and other event partners, treating them as strategic contributors to the creative process.
  • Own creative deliverables from concept through final onsite walkthrough, ensuring every element remains aligned with the overarching event vision.
  • Provide high-level estimates of creative hours and costs to support project planning and commercial decisions.
  • Help establish best practices for pricing, pitching, presenting, and delivering premium experiential work.
  • Build and maintain a trusted network of specialized freelance creative talent to support complex project requirements.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in experiential marketing, event production, creative agencies, or other high-end experience-driven environments.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of live or hybrid experiences, including conference themes, general-session stages, immersive environments, or comparable large-scale productions.
  • Proven ability to independently lead creative projects from the first brainstorm through concept development, delivery, and onsite execution.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI-powered creative tools for visual ideation, moodboarding, concept development, and narrative creation; familiarity with Midjourney, DALL-E, Adobe Firefly, Gemini, Claude, or comparable tools is valuable.
  • Strong understanding of experiential design, spatial storytelling, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and the relationship between physical and digital environments.
  • Deep understanding of how complex conferences operate across event websites, foyers, breakout spaces, main stages, and supporting technology.
  • Familiarity with event technologies such as LED displays, lighting, sound, interactive media, AR, or spatial computing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Fortune 500 brands, $1M+ productions, or experiences serving 500+ attendees.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to present creative concepts persuasively to senior executives and connect design decisions to business outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams, technology partners, sales teams, clients, and external creative specialists.
  • Strong creative judgment and attention to detail, balanced with a practical understanding of what can be successfully executed in a live event environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple creative priorities, make decisions independently, and maintain ownership throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • A proactive, imaginative, and solutions-oriented approach, with a genuine interest in emerging technologies and evolving creative workflows.
Benefits:
  • Salary: $113,000–$170,000 per year.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance plan options.
  • Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • 401(k) with employer matching contributions of up to 4%.
  • 16 paid time-off days, increasing with tenure, plus 9 paid holidays.
  • Annual profit-sharing bonus.
  • 12 weeks of 100% paid parental leave, including maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
  • $50 monthly fitness reimbursement.
  • Monthly internet and/or cell phone stipends.
  • Annual charitable donation support of up to $1,000 for charities of your choice.
  • Regular social events and professional learning opportunities.
  • Remote work environment within the United States.
  • An inclusive and collaborative culture centered on commitment, kindness, humility, respect, and professional growth.
