Senior Electrician

Job Summary: As a key member of SafeTouch Security’s Field Services team, the Senior Electrician executes complex installations and service work across electrical, low-voltage, AV, and smart technology systems. In addition to hands-on responsibilities, this role provides mentorship to junior electricians and supports project coordination to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of advanced electrical, low-voltage, smart home, and integrated AV systems in residential and commercial environments.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, load calculations, and technical drawings to ensure accurate, code-compliant installations and successful project execution.
- Serve as the field lead for installation teams by coordinating daily activities, providing technical guidance, mentoring junior technicians and apprentices, and maintaining high workmanship and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, programmers, and clients to plan installations, resolve field issues, and deliver a professional customer experience.
- Oversee quality control, job documentation, material usage, and compliance with NEC, local electrical codes, and workplace safety requirements.
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service of Generac generator systems in residential and commercial environments.
- Follow safety procedures and keep the job site clean, organized, and hazard-free, including thorough clean-up at the end of each project and workday.
- Perform additional duties as required to support evolving business needs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an electrical apprenticeship or trade program preferred.
- Current state-specific Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
- Five or more years of experience in residential and commercial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and system integration.
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, AV technologies, home automation platforms, and networked smart technologies. Generac generator installation and service experience preferred.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings, using electrical and low-voltage diagnostic tools, and coordinating with other trades on active job sites.
- Effective leadership, communication, and mentoring skills, with the ability to lead crews, train junior team members, and maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, project tracking systems, digital timekeeping platforms, and material management tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented, safety-first mindset.
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain preferred.
- Pass a drug screen and background check requirements.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record and ongoing compliance with SafeTouch’s fleet driving policy.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, roofs, and uneven or slippery surfaces.
- Stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and safely ascend/descend stairs or ladders for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
- Safely perform physically demanding tasks such as digging, drilling, cutting, and sawing.
- Operate hand tools, power equipment, technology, and heavy machinery safely, with adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity.
- Read and review documents on electronic devices and in hard copy, observe details at close range, and accurately exchange information in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Drive to and from work and client sites as business needs require.
- May be exposed to loud noise environments.
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Work/Base Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Core Work Hours/Availability: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Overtime as business needs require. Participate in an on-call rotation, with a $75 stipend per on-call period.
Travel: Mostly local. Up to 10% outside the area.
