FP&A Analyst (Sheffield, UK)
An exciting opportunity to join the Finance team in Sheffield and play a central role in Aptean's cost management and profitability agenda. The FP&A Analyst carries specific responsibility for identifying cost savings and efficiency opportunities, producing regular savings reports, and providing rigorous analytical support on COGS and external third-party spend in close partnership with the business. The role also supports core FP&A activities - budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis - and actively uses AI tools to improve the quality and speed of financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and size cost savings opportunities across assigned cost functions, prioritising external third-party spend and overhead categories,
- Analyse COGS, vendor spend, and profitability across revenue streams,
- Track and report savings initiatives, including status, ownership, and financial impact,
- Support development of business cases and monitor delivery against savings targets,
- Maintain accurate COGS reporting, including variance analysis and trend visibility,
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports in line with deadlines,
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including modelling and assumptions review,
- Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses for strategic decision-making,
- Leverage AI tools to improve analysis quality and reporting efficiency,
- Identify and implement process improvements across Finance,
- Communicate insights clearly to leadership,
- Collaborate and proactively share knowledge within the team.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Experience: 2-3 years in FP&A, ideally within a global, multi-currency technology or SaaS business
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Power BI and AI tools for financial analysis.
- Core Competencies: attention to detail, ability to interpret and explain financial data, clear written and verbal communication, and effective cross-functional collaboration
