Are you an engineer looking to grow your skills in a dynamic, fast paced environment?
Do you want to be part of a 15 person engineering team filled with industry thought leaders who hold top tier certifications?
Are you searching for a company that invests heavily in training, values its people, and is trusted by customers for exceptional service?
If so, you’ll thrive at Laketec.
About Us
Laketec is an IT infrastructure provider specializing in Network, Cloud, Security, Collaboration, and Structured Cabling solutions. We focus on what we do best — partnering exclusively with best of breed technology providers and delivering deep engineering expertise.
As one of Ohio’s leading HPE Aruba and Juniper infrastructure partners, our team includes some of the most experienced and highly certified engineers in the region. Our commitment to quality, customer service, and technical excellence has fueled our rapid growth, and we are excited to expand our team.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our Laketec360 managed services support team. In this role, you will support and maintain network infrastructure for customers primarily in education, healthcare, and mid-sized enterprise environments. You will also take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, making thoughtful recommendations that enhance performance, reliability, and overall network optimization.
While core networking technologies such as switching and wireless will be your primary focus, you will also have opportunities to work with advanced solutions including NAC, SD WAN, SSE, firewalls, and additional emerging network technologies, based on your skills and interests.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain HPE Aruba, Cisco, and Cisco Meraki network environments across multiple customer organizations.
• Use monitoring and management tools, including Auvik, to proactively support network performance, availability, and visibility.
• Take a proactive, forward-thinking approach to reviewing customer infrastructure.
• Build strong relationships with customers’ internal IT and engineering teams while delivering responsive, high-quality technical support.
• Partner with Laketec’s project engineering team on escalations and provide occasional assistance with implementations and deployments.
• Continue developing technical expertise through Laketec-provided training, lab time, and certification opportunities.
Requirements
• 3+ years of proven experience in a network engineering or network support role.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience with Aruba and/or Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Solid understanding of network security, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both customers and internal teams.
• Ability to work effectively in remote, on-site, and in-office collaborative environments.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, ACA-CA, ACX/ABS-CX, or similar are a strong plus.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security products is a plus.
• Participation in the team’s on-call rotation.
