Job Description

Primary Responsibilities: Join our dynamic and growing residential construction company, where we are committed to delivering high-quality service and driving continuous improvement in our operations. We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance to lead a growing segment of our business and work closely with the President and Executive Chairman to support our company’s growth objectives.

Specific Duties & Tasks: As the Vice President of Finance, you will be a key member of the executive team, overseeing all financial operations and providing strategic guidance to the company. You will work directly with the President to align financial planning with the company’s goals, manage accounting processes, deliver high value reporting, and drive financial performance. This role involves strategic financial planning, budgeting, and offering critical insights to shape the future direction of the company. The role reports to the Executive Chairman with a dotted line to the RNC President.

  • Strategic Financial Planning & Leadership:
  • - Partner with the President to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s growth and profitability goals.

    - Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and insights for strategic decision-making.

    - Establish financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial management.

  • Financial Operations & Management:
  • - Oversee all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.

    - Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

    - Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure to optimize the company's financial health.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • - Prepare and present financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses, to the executive team.

      - Prepare board-level presentations on past financial performance, execution on key initiatives, and future financial expectations

    - Conduct detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to the President and other senior leaders.

    - Utilize financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

  • Executive Collaboration & Advisory:
  • - Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the President and executive team, providing insights on market trends, business risks, and potential opportunities.

    - Collaborate with other departments, including operations, and sales, to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • - Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax filings, audits, and financial reporting standards.

    - Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions to support the company's financial initiatives.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CMA certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the residential construction or general construction sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, reporting, and cost accounting principles.
  • Proven strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive financial performance.
