Electromechanical Technician

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electromechanical Technician based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support critical healthcare infrastructure through hands-on engineering and technical expertise.
The Electromechanical Technician will lead equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities across multiple industrial facilities.
This position combines mechanical systems knowledge, project coordination, troubleshooting, and field execution responsibilities.

Accountabilities:

The Electromechanical Technician will oversee the successful installation, integration, and operation of complex process equipment and utility systems. This position requires a proactive approach to project execution, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently.

  • Lead installation, startup, and commissioning activities for process equipment and utility systems across multiple facilities throughout North America.
  • Develop installation plans, project schedules, and execution strategies for facility expansions, upgrades, and new construction projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, project managers, and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within established timelines.
  • Manage equipment procurement, technical evaluations, and system integration for machinery including autoclaves, wash systems, boilers, compactors, compressors, conveyors, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Review and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, equipment documentation, and construction plans to verify installation accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, automation, and controls-related issues during installation and startup phases.
  • Support compliance with OSHA, NFPA, LOTO, and site safety requirements while assisting with operator training, documentation, and maintenance system implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, system optimization, and operational reliability enhancements.
Requirements:

The successful candidate will bring strong industrial equipment expertise, hands-on technical experience, and the ability to manage complex field projects independently. This role requires excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial equipment installation, manufacturing engineering, facility construction, maintenance, field service, or commissioning environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on industrial machinery, including conveyors, drives, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, relays, control circuits, and safe troubleshooting methods.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, automation systems, and industrial controls, including the ability to diagnose equipment issues and support system startups.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as construction drawings, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50–60% of the time across various locations in the United States.
