  • Apply Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Test principles throughout development activities.
  • Evaluate existing spacecraft architectures and identify opportunities for reuse, optimization, and improvement.
  • Lead or support multiple spacecraft, payload, satellite bus, and launch integration activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional engineering planning, coordination, and execution efforts.
  • Develop and maintain spacecraft simulation models to support performance analysis and mission requirements.
  • Support spacecraft product roadmap activities, including design improvements, cost targets, and future mission opportunities.
  • Contribute to spacecraft customization processes based on customer mission needs.
  • Perform system engineering activities required to build, maintain, and evolve spacecraft products.
  • Promote cost-effective engineering solutions through heritage platform reuse and manufacturing optimization.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems, along with strong analytical, simulation, and software skills. This role requires a highly motivated engineer who can independently solve technical problems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related technical discipline required.
  • Master’s degree in STEM or a related technical field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a master’s degree, in spacecraft GNC system analysis, design, and verification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineering activities.
  • Strong experience modeling, simulating, and analyzing spacecraft dynamics, sensors, actuators, and GNC algorithms.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and STK.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML/UML, requirements management, architectures, interfaces, and trade studies.
  • Experience with software development, verification, and validation processes.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C or C++.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and ability to work through complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to work on advanced spacecraft and aerospace technology programs.
  • Direct involvement in impactful missions supporting space exploration and innovation.
  • Collaborative environment with experienced aerospace engineers and technical leaders.
  • Opportunity to contribute across the full product development lifecycle, from requirements through testing and delivery.
  • Exposure to challenging engineering problems across satellite systems, simulations, and mission operations.
  • Professional growth opportunities through work on cutting-edge aerospace projects.
  • Flexible and collaborative culture within a smaller engineering-focused organization.
  • Opportunity to support programs across government, commercial, and research space sectors.
