Kerry Brothers Truck Repair is seeking a dependable Mobile Service Technician to provide on-site maintenance and repair services for commercial trucks, trailers, buses, and fleet equipment throughout Southeast Michigan.

As a Mobile Mechanic, you'll operate one of our fully equipped service trucks, responding directly to customer locations to perform diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency roadside services. Description

The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for safely diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial trucks and trailers at customer locations. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Technicians are expected to represent Kerry Brothers professionally while providing efficient, high-quality repairs that minimize customer downtime.

Essential Responsibilities

Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency roadside breakdownsPerform diagnostics on diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and air systemsComplete preventative maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, filters, and fluid servicesPerform DOT inspections and document findingsDiagnose and repair charging and starting systemsRepair lighting, wiring, and electrical faultsDiagnose and repair air brake systemsRepair suspension and steering componentsPerform wheel end repairs including hubs, bearings, seals, and brake componentsReplace belts, hoses, water pumps, alternators, starters, batteries, and other engine accessoriesPerform minor hydraulic and PTO repairsComplete trailer repairs including lighting, air leaks, brakes, and suspensionUtilize OEM diagnostic software and scan toolsAccurately document repairs, labor, and parts usedMaintain inventory and cleanliness of assigned service truckCommunicate repair recommendations and equipment conditions with customers and service advisorsFollow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety proceduresDeliver professional customer service while representing Kerry Brothers in the field

Position Overview

The ideal Mobile Service Technician is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a variety of environments. This individual possesses strong troubleshooting skills, communicates effectively with customers, and takes pride in delivering quality repairs the first time.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

3+ years of heavy-duty truck, trailer, or diesel repair experience preferredStrong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skillsExperience with diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension, and electrical systemsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent customer service and communication skillsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to obtain or maintain a CDL (preferred)Ability to lift up to 75 poundsBasic computer skills for completing electronic repair ordersWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

ASE Medium/Heavy Truck CertificationsState of Michigan CertificationsCDL Class A or BExperience with Cummins INSITE, Allison DOC, Detroit DiagnosticLink, or similar OEM softwareWelding and fabrication experienceHydraulic and PTO system experienceTrailer repair experienceRoadside service experienceDOT inspection certification
