Tire Service Technician
Detroit, MI
Role Description
As a Tire Technician, your main focus is providing optimal customer service to keep our customer’s vehicles operating safely. Your responsibilities include tire installation, repair, and maintenance on cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles. Other services you may provide include tire rotations, balancing, and flat repairs.
Responsibilities:
• Install new tires and wheels
• Perform maintenance on tires, including rotations, balancing, repairs, and cleaning
• Weld aluminum wheels
• Follow safety guidelines and best practices
• Must display a positive and friendly attitude as well as appropriate behavior during work hours
• Must provide superior customer service
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach and lifts 50+lbs
• Prior professional automotive tire service is a plus
• We are looking for individuals who are reliable, punctual and safety-minded, with a strong work ethic
While carrying out the responsibilities of this job, the employee will regularly encounter moving mechanical parts. There may be occasional exposure to extreme cold and heat, and the noise level in the workplace is moderately loud. The employee should be physically capable of frequently lifting and carrying heavy tires, often weighing up to 75 pounds, requiring good strength in the back, shoulders, and legs, along with the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and reach, while maintaining good balance and dexterity to perform tasks like mounting and dismounting tires; good vision and depth perception are also essential for accurate tire inspections and alignment checks.
