Job Description
Position Summary:
The Community Troop Specialist provides service and support to Girl Scout members in GSSEM’s Community Troops. The Community Troop Specialist is responsible for retaining girl in assigned geographic areas by providing excellent service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides ongoing leadership to Community Troops in assigned territory.
• Facilitates assigned Community Troop meetings throughout the year
• In partnership with the Product Program department, ensures girls in Community Troops have the opportunity to participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
• Answers, problem-solve, manages, and responds appropriately to all inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
• Works collaboratively to ensure volunteers are recruited, trained, and scheduled for Community Troop meetings.
• Provides first-level conflict resolution per GSSEM processes.
• Optimizes the use of technology, including Salesforce, to provide support to members.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including regularly working evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software programs as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel to GSSEM service centers and to meetings throughout the designated territory.
Equipment Used: Computer, tablet, mobile phone, TV/audio equipment, LCD projector.
Physical Activities: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, keyboard, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Physical Demands: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently.
Work Conditions: Activities occur both inside and outside.
