This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Loss Prevention & Operations Analyst based in Canada.
As a Loss Prevention & Operations Analyst, you’ll investigate customer operations using video, data, and analytical insights to uncover risks and improvement opportunities.
You’ll work closely with customers, Customer Success, Sales, and internal teams to understand business needs and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Your work will span loss prevention, asset protection, risk mitigation, health and safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
You’ll take ownership of investigations and customer problems from initial identification through resolution, working independently while receiving general direction.
The role combines detective-style problem solving with customer service, requiring you to recognize patterns, investigate anomalies, and communicate conclusions clearly.
You’ll operate in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where quality, urgency, accountability, and continuous learning are highly valued.
Success means helping customers better understand their operations, realize greater value from technology, and make informed decisions based on reliable insights.
- Conduct remote customer reviews, audits, analyses, and investigations using video and operational data to identify risks, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Analyze customer activity and business information to uncover patterns related to loss prevention, asset protection, risk mitigation, health and safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Gather relevant customer information from Sales, Customer Success, and other internal teams to understand business priorities and tailor investigations accordingly.
- Translate analytical and investigative findings into clear, practical, and actionable insights that help customers understand the health and performance of their operations.
- Identify outliers, anomalies, and emerging issues based on customer requirements and investigate their underlying causes.
- Take full ownership of customer problems from identification through resolution, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and potential solutions.
- Maintain organized and thorough documentation of investigations, findings, recommendations, and relevant customer information.
- Communicate results and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and other teams to strengthen customer relationships, adoption, and long-term value.
- Support corporate compliance initiatives for customers, including well-known retail and restaurant brands across North America.
- Manage multiple priorities and timelines independently while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
- Share learnings, best practices, and insights with the broader team to improve processes and individual and team effectiveness.
- Deep understanding and professional experience in retail loss prevention or asset protection, including familiarity with POS and inventory data.
- General understanding of retail and restaurant operations, ideally gained through customer service, loss prevention, asset protection, or a comparable role.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and numerical information, recognize patterns, identify anomalies, and investigate potential problems.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain findings clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organized, process-oriented, and comfortable maintaining detailed and accurate documentation.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing responsibilities, and consistently deliver high-quality work within expected timelines.
- Strong customer-service orientation and genuine motivation to help others solve problems and achieve better outcomes.
- Naturally curious and investigative mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of SaaS technology and enthusiasm for developing deep expertise in a technology product and its applications.
- Proven ability to take complete ownership of complex problems from identification through resolution.
- Proactive approach to customer needs, with the judgment to identify risks and opportunities before they become larger issues.
- Strong collaboration and team orientation, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to shared goals and prioritize team success.
- Additional language skills, particularly French or Spanish, are an asset.
- Experience with Python for data analysis, including tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, or Scikit-Learn, is an asset.
- Experience with Google Sheets or Excel, including Apps Script or macros, is an asset.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and willing to complete a criminal records check upon hire.
