Job Title: Vice President, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Center of Excellence (CoE)

Location: Remote

Clearance: Must possess a SECRET Clearance

The Vice President of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Center of Excellence (CoE) provides enterprise leadership for the organization's AI strategy, governance, innovation, and adoption initiatives. This executive will establish and lead the AI Center of Excellence, serving as the organization's principal authority on AI technologies, responsible AI practices, and scalable implementation frameworks.

The VP will partner with executive leadership, business units, technology teams, and external stakeholders to identify, develop, and deploy AI-enabled solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve customer outcomes, drive innovation, and support strategic growth objectives. This role is responsible for creating a sustainable AI ecosystem that balances innovation, risk management, compliance, and measurable business value.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in technology, data, analytics, digital transformation, or AI-related functions. Minimum of 7 years leading enterprise-scale technology, data science, AI, or innovation programs. Demonstrated success establishing and scaling enterprise IT programs for example AI, low code no code programs, Centers of Excellence, or enterprise transformation initiatives. Experience developing AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices. Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive organizational change. Experience managing large-scale budgets, portfolios, and cross-functional teams.Ability to manage large cross functional 10+ teams.Must have active Secret Security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Deep understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, natural language processing, automation, and advanced analytics. Knowledge of AI governance, ethics, regulatory considerations, and risk management frameworks. Business acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with cloud platforms, AI ecosystems, and emerging technologies.
    Strategic planning and organizational development capabilities. Ability to build consensus and influence decision-making across all organizational levels. Demonstrated success leading transformational initiatives in complex environments. Strong financial management and business case development skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience supporting government, federal, or regulated industry environments. Relevant certifications in AI, data science, cloud technologies, project management, or enterprise architecture. Experience with AI governance frameworks, model risk management, and responsible AI programs. Track record of publishing, speaking, or contributing thought leadership in AI-related disciplines.

Job Duties:

Strategic Leadership:

    Develop and execute the organization's enterprise AI vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business goals. Establish and lead the AI Center of Excellence to drive governance, standards, best practices, and enterprise-wide AI adoption. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding emerging AI technologies, opportunities, risks, and market trends. Identify strategic opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning, generative AI, automation, and advanced analytics across business functions. Champion a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and responsible AI usage throughout the organization.

AI Center of Excellence Leadership:

    Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of AI, data, analytics, automation, and business transformation professionals. Develop reusable frameworks, methodologies, tools, and assets that accelerate AI adoption across the enterprise. Create governance structures, intake processes, and prioritization frameworks for AI initiatives. Promote knowledge sharing, training, and AI literacy programs across the organization. Foster collaboration between business units, technology teams, and external partners.

Program and Portfolio Management:

    Oversee the identification, evaluation, prioritization, and execution of AI initiatives. Develop business cases and investment strategies for AI projects and emerging technologies. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure AI program effectiveness and return on investment. Ensure successful delivery of AI programs through effective resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and change management. Monitor project outcomes and continuously optimize AI capabilities and processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

    Partner with senior leaders to understand business challenges and identify AI-enabled solutions. Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, client engagements, and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with clients, vendors, research institutions, and technology providers to advance organizational AI capabilities. Communicate AI strategy, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.

Talent Development:

    Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing AI and data professionals. Establish workforce development strategies to build AI capabilities across the organization. Create learning pathways and training programs that support enterprise AI adoption. Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.

Work Location & Schedule:

Remote work permitted; internet access and availability during core hours (8:30 AM–5 PM EST) required.Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required during government critical reporting events.25% of travel may be required with approval.
