The Registered Nurse will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a compassionate and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience in women's health or obstetrics/gynecology and a commitment to providing exceptional care to women throughout all stages of life.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including medical history, vital signs, and physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs, preferences, and treatment goals.
- Clinical Procedures and Treatments: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with clinical procedures, examinations, and treatments related to obstetrics, gynecology, and women's health. Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered by healthcare providers.
- Patient Education and Counseling: Provide patient education and counseling on topics such as prenatal care, family planning, contraception, menopause, and women's health maintenance. Offer guidance and support to patients and their families regarding healthcare decisions and treatment options.
- Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including nursing assessments, care plans, progress notes, and documentation of patient education and counseling. Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Patient Advocacy and Support: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring respectful and patient-centered care. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families facing challenging healthcare situations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and support staff. Communicate relevant patient information, care plans, and treatment outcomes to healthcare team members in a clear and concise manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women's health nursing.
- Certification in obstetric or gynecologic nursing (e.g., RNC-OB, WHNP-BC) preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NRP certification preferred for labor and delivery nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to make independent nursing judgments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and promoting women's health and wellness.
