Job Description:
About the Role

The Manager, Growth Acquisition Marketing position for Wall Street Journal will report to and partner with the Director of Growth Acquisition Marketing to grow and optimize customer acquisition programs focused on new subscribers globally. This role is highly collaborative and will work across the organization with multiple stakeholders to plan, develop and execute global growth strategies.

You will work on-site in our midtown Manhattan office 3 days each week. (Tuesday through Thursday).

You Will:
  • Plan, develop and execute the Wall Street Journal global subscription acquisition marketing strategy.
  • Own the global monthly forecast across acquisition channels (on-site, paid media, email), leveraging trend analysis and historical benchmarks to ensure titles track to budget and current forecast.
  • Partner with internal paid media teams to ensure that media budgets are delivered, and campaign goals are met.
  • Manage and optimize owned media channels, including email and onsite, to ensure achievement of our targets.
  • Manage and monitor ongoing campaigns, working with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient planning, launch, run time, and take down.
  • Provide post-campaign analysis, drawing on successes and failures, to identify tactics that are effective as well as areas of improvement.
  • Improve and optimize conversion journey through ideating and launching experiments.
  • Work collaboratively with brand, paid media, product, news, marketing ops and content marketing teams to identify creative ways to improve acquisition.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscapes and new technologies impacting digital marketing and MarTech platforms.
You Have:
  • 7+ years of performance marketing and/or subscriber acquisition marketing experience.
  • An understanding of a subscription-based business and subscription economics.
  • Proven success of running end-to-end acquisition marketing campaigns that encompass owned, earned and paid media properties.
  • Experience A/B testing and working with product teams.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation. A self-starter who is able to take ownership of their projects as well as come up with and pitch new ideas.
  • A team player who seeks out opportunities for collaboration with their wider team and knows how to communicate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and see them through completion- requiring the need to appropriately prioritize tasks and projects in order to hit deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and resolve challenges.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A pro-active, self-starter mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for journalism, publishing, and/or financial news.
