Level 2-Armed Security Officer – Commercial/Financial Institutions

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Security Supervisor / Site Manager
Position Overview
We invite qualified, experienced, and reliable Level 2-Armed Security Officers to become part of our security team, providing services to commercial and financial institutions across New Mexico.
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, clients, and visitors while protecting company assets and property. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong situational awareness, excellent judgment, and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
• Level 2 Security Officers are Authorized to actively intervene within legal parameters, as per training protocols, including the ability to detain individuals when lawful conditions exist. This level includes additional training in de-escalation and situational control.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas through surveillance systems and routine patrols.
• Control facility access and verify authorization for personnel and visitors.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, suspicious activity, emergencies, or security breaches.
• Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Escort employees, visitors, or sensitive assets when required.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Enforce site-specific policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while effectively managing conflict and de-escalating situations.
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid New Mexico Level 2 Security Guard License as required by state regulations.
• Previous experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military service strongly preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience working in high-security environments, particularly financial institutions.
• Familiarity with CCTV, surveillance systems, and access control software.
