What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of quality processes, lean six sigma certification and experience supervising others in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, and directs daily activities of hourly quality staff utilizing the lead as needed to meet new product development and delivery schedules while meeting quality requirements
- Makes recommendations to ensure production runs meet established quality standards and predicted yields.
- Ensures employees follow established procedures and complete quality assurance work within time and budgetary constraints.
- Maintains Company’s ISO 9001 quality management system compliance and certification as Quality Representative to Management.
- Communicates with customers and vendors regarding quality issues.
- Collaborates with others to investigate customer complaints and ensures the implementation of changes to manufacturing procedures to eliminate causes. Using six sigma methods and tools identify root cause of problematic materials & methods that reduce productivity and create quality problems.
- Collects and analyzes data to develop permanent corrective actions. Works with engineering on process issues and operations on operational issues to improve compliance and reduce risk.
- Develops and maintains operational training programs.
- Works with operations to ensure quality audits are done by assigned quality and manufacturing associates.
- Records quality measures and analyzes performance using statistical process control methods.
- Identifies cost reduction opportunities and presents proposals for management review.
- Coordinates with supplier quality to assure compatibility with corporate quality systems.
- Manages gage calibration system.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of quality department processes.
- Lean six sigma green belt certification or higher.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to respond to manufacturing process and system problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with office productivity software such as spreadsheets and word processing and Enterprise Resource Planning software.
