Position Summary:
The Director, Commercial Education & Effectiveness is responsible for developing content, facilitating delivery, and reinforcing education within the commercial organization. The individual reports to the VP, Commercial Enablement and will be responsible for leading, coaching, developing, and evaluating the Commercial Education & Effectiveness Team.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop and facilitate strategic education, training, and effectiveness programs within the commercial team.
  • Build a comprehensive educational library through multiple delivery methods and cultivate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the Clinical Services Division in achieving its revenue and profitability goals.
  • Prioritize educational needs to maintain high levels of focus on hands-on practice and overall selling time.
  • Translate educational vision into detailed tactical plans to support knowledge needed to gain and retain new and existing clients. Work with the Clinical Sales team and leadership, as well as the Pharma Sales team and leadership to ensure product and professional education drives overall effectiveness.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal stakeholders (AVPs, Lab Operations, Project Management, Medical) to ensure successful attainment of company goals and objectives.
  • Analyze industry trends and changing educational needs to keep programs current and effective.
  • Support patient advocacy partnerships and help drive education internally and externally from these alliances.
  • Monitor awareness and knowledge base of sales teams to ensure educational and effectiveness objectives are met.
  • Provide direction and act as a liaison with field trainers and Regional Directors to ensure consistency is maintained and that training efforts are balanced between selling and training.
  • Manage team goals, travel, and group training events to ensure efficient use of company resources within department budgets.
  • Serve as a key voice for education in Patient Advocacy partnerships, advancing patient knowledge and creating awareness across the organization.
  • Prepare meetings and reports to update senior leadership on Patient Advocacy progress and strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing and other departments on patient advocacy efforts to educate internal and external clients about NeoGenomics, precision medicine, and the diagnostic process.
  • Work effectively with individuals across multiple departments throughout NeoGenomics.
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience with at least 3-5 years of proven performance in sales training, education, or commercial enablement. Experience in the diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of education, facilitation, and evolving eLearning opportunities
  • Ability to lead a team of education professionals and drive individual and team goal attainment
  • Ability to maintain an outstanding level of market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical, professional, and selling-related skills
  • Superior listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Possess a positive attitude and understanding of organizational education and effectiveness dynamics
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products – particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and learning management systems
  • Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships to facilitate accomplishment of work goals and objectives
  • Strong presentation skills and business acumen
  • Ability to work effectively with direction and guidance from manager
  • Problem solving, decision making, and technical learning capabilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Administrative skills and ability to manage business in complex environments
  • Demonstrated experience supporting revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company
