About this Role:
  • Under limited supervision, performs preventive maintenance, repairs and provides user support on electromechanical equipment such as operating room tables and lights, sterilizers, automated washers and hospital beds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses failure of electro-mechanical equipment and sterilizers and affects repairs.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of Central Sterile, washer and sterilizer, General Operating RoomTable and Medivators of Gastrointestinal Digestive Center.
  • Informs the appropriate user department supervisor, immediate supervisor and the Biomedical Manager or designee when critical equipment cannot be returned to service prior to the end of the shift.
  • Appropriately orders repair parts to maintain correct inventory levels.
  • Maintains, cleans, and organizes work area and test equipment between tasks and at the end of shift.
  • Verifies proper operation of all equipment following service.
  • Preventative Maintenance-Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Consistently completes assigned PM duties within 30 days of due date.
  • Maintains customer department equipment at a level that meets the needs and expectations of the department.
  • Consistently and accurately documents all work performed on a daily basis.
  • Documents and manages all unscheduled assignments in the equipment management database.
  • Documents all outgoing items with a open work order in the equipment management system and on an equipment requisition with a valid PO number.
  • Effectively schedules service with equipment users to maintain productivity while minimizing the disruption of patient services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: AA degree preferred
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of related experience. Plumbing experience preferred. Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 4 pm with Weekend rotation every 3 weeks, On call required.
