Senior Analyst - Payroll Accounting in India at Jobgether

This role sits at the intersection of payroll operations and payroll accounting, ensuring accurate payroll processing, financial integrity, and seamless labor allocation across systems. You will play a key part in managing end-to-end payroll activities while also supporting payroll accounting journal entries and reporting within enterprise HR and finance systems. The position involves close collaboration with global stakeholders, PMOs, and service delivery teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and process efficiency. You will work in a structured yet fast-evolving environment where data accuracy, system understanding, and analytical thinking are critical. The role also includes contributing to system improvements, testing, audits, and governance activities across payroll processes. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll execution, payroll accounting alignment, and data integrity across systems while supporting reporting, audits, and cross-functional payroll initiatives.

• Process payroll activities using PeopleSoft 9.2, ensuring accuracy in calculations, deductions, and employee compensation.
• Prepare and post payroll accounting journal entries, including earnings and deductions.
• Maintain payroll systems by inputting, validating, and reconciling employee and payroll data.
• Generate payroll reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs for stakeholders and management review.
• Support payroll inquiries from employees and resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in maintaining documentation, including data dictionaries, process guides, and audit records.
• Participate in UAT testing, including test script creation, execution, and issue resolution.
• Support payroll governance activities, stakeholder meetings, and cross-functional coordination.
• Contribute to data extraction, system configuration, and process improvements.
• Assist in onboarding new countries or transitions into payroll processes and systems.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll processing and payroll accounting experience, strong analytical ability, and solid expertise in PeopleSoft and related HRIS tools.

• 2+ years of experience in payroll operations, payroll accounting, or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with PeopleSoft 9.2 payroll modules.
• Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Cognos) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and data flow between systems.
• Experience across payroll-related finance modules such as payroll accounting, labor allocation, or billing is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience supporting UAT testing and collaborating with technical and business teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting or analytics in a multinational environment is preferred.
