About This Position

Description:

Global Sales and Marketing Director

1. POSITION SNAPSHOT

In this role, you will own and scale FlackTek’s global commercial engine, leading marketing, inside sales, sales engineering, and key account management to drive consistent, predictable revenue growth. You will build the systems, structure, and operating discipline required to generate qualified pipelines, improve conversion rates, and deliver measurable commercial outcomes across global markets. This is a team leadership role where you will operate at both strategic and execution levels, setting direction while actively engaging in complex deals to elevate team performance. You will lead a team of Sales and Marketing professionals for which you will be expected to provide direct management, development, and leadership. You will ensure full alignment across the commercial funnel, from demand generation through close, while embedding accountability, visibility, and continuous improvement into every function.

This role reports to the: General Manager

2. PRIMARY OUTCOMES

  • Qualified pipeline coverage ratio consistently meets or exceeds 3.0x revenue targets
  • Demo to close conversion rate improvement year over year
  • Sales cycle length reduced by 15–25% within first 12 months
  • Forecast accuracy within ±10% on a rolling quarterly basis
  • Full Salesforce adoption with real-time KPI visibility across all commercial functions
  • Marketing-sourced pipeline contribution meets or exceeds 40% of total pipeline
  • Book-to-bill ratio achieves 1.2x or greater

3. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead global marketing, inside sales, sales engineering, and key account management functions
  • Establish KPIs, performance expectations, and operating cadence across all commercial teams
  • Develop sales compensation plans for the team to deliver on metrics and drive toward Primary Outcomes
  • Design and enforce a structured, Salesforce-driven sales process
  • Own pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and funnel conversion performance
  • Travel to support high-value and complex sales opportunities
  • Participate directly in customer calls, demos, and trials
  • Intervene in stalled or strategic deals to accelerate outcomes
  • Coach Sales Engineers on discovery, technical selling, and closing effectiveness
  • Develop Inside Sales Manager on outbound strategy and team performance
  • Align marketing and sales around pipeline generation and ROI accountability
  • Define and refine ideal customer profiles and target segments
  • Guide campaign strategy, messaging, and targeting based on field insights
  • Identify new verticals, applications, and market expansion opportunities
  • Implement corrective actions to address performance gaps quickly
  • Build a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement

4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Experience:
    • 8–15+ years of sales experience with 3–5+ years in leadership roles within technical or industrial B2B environments
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Salesforce or comparable CRM systems with experience building reporting and forecasting structures
    • Demonstrated ability to design and scale sales systems, processes, and commercial organizations
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer and participating in virtual meetings
    • Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment, including keyboard, mouse, and phone systems
    • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and through video conferencing platforms
    • Ability to travel frequently, including air travel, rental car use, and movement between customer sites, estimated at 25–40%
    • Ability to occasionally move or transport materials such as demonstration equipment, typically up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to navigate manufacturing, laboratory, and customer facility environments safely and effectively

5. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience leading multi-layered, global commercial organizations
    • Background in manufacturing or industrial technology environments
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Proven success scaling multi-region sales teams and distribution networks
    • Experience managing strategic channel or distributor relationships

  • HAVE A BIAS FOR ACTION: Work with a sense of urgency to get things done. Avoid analysis paralysis. Gather the relevant facts and evaluate your options thoroughly, then get moving. Act decisively and adjust when new information becomes available.
  • BE RELENTLESS ABOUT IMPROVEMENT: Regularly evaluate the way you work to find ways to improve. Don’t be satisfied with the status quo. Find ways to get things done better, faster, and more efficiently.

7. WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE & TRAVEL

  • Role Type: Full Time - Exempt
  • Location: Onsite, in person in Louisville, CO
  • Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • Travel: 25–40%

8. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS (benefit summary subject to plan/policy documents)

  • Compensation:
    • Annual Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $230,000
    • Additional compensation and incentives: TBD
