As the Valve Program Coordinator, you’ll coordinate the Heart Valve and TAVR clinical program and ensure processes are in place to meet regulatory requirements. You will assure smooth operations and patient flow for cardiology services specific to heart valve and structural heart devices. This role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure all patient and family needs are met while supporting quality, research, and registry management initiatives.
Valve Program Coordinator Job Responsibilities• Coordinates diagnostic workup and care of defined valve patient population.
• Manages patient tracking, triage, and wait list processes.
• Participates in and coordinates case selection using established guidelines.
• Assists in planning and implementation of a comprehensive Valve Clinic and Valve Program.
• Oversees valve clinic scheduling and processes; coordinates record review with team members.
• Makes regular rounds to hospitalized valve patients to assist in assessment, care coordination, and discharge management.
• Develops and implements educational materials in collaboration with the Medical Director, Valve Nurse Practitioner, and department leadership.
• Coordinates communication with referring providers and outside agencies to ensure process alignment for patient transfers.
• Partners with Marketing and external agencies to support community outreach initiatives.
• Actively manages the TVT registry to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
• Serves as primary resource for registry data integrity and compliance.
• Abstracts and compiles required patient data from medical records.
• Identifies quality improvement opportunities based on registry findings and assists with implementation of solutions.
• Collaborates with IT and Quality teams to maintain registry accuracy and reporting capabilities.
• Assists with cardiovascular service and physician report cards.
• Participates in informed consent processes and clinical research coordination as applicable.
• Supports development, implementation, and maintenance of program evaluation and improvement initiatives.
• Creates and maintains clinic documentation tools and EMR templates.
• Promotes communication among interdisciplinary care team members.
• Monitors customer satisfaction and recommends service enhancements.
• Participates in hospital-wide process improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of registry and patient records.
• Primarily works in office and patient care environments.
As a Valve Program Coordinator, you bring strong cardiovascular knowledge, organizational expertise, and a collaborative approach to patient-centered care. You are committed to regulatory excellence, quality improvement, and advancing cardiovascular services within the community.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years of job-related experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Project management training and experience preferred.
• Registry experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Indiana (if applicable).
• BLS (CPR) certification required for direct patient care providers.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications and EMR systems.
