About this Opportunity:

Responsible for providing engineering and project management support for production operations; implements technical improvements to manufacturing equipment, processes and methods, which support the production of existing products and the introduction of new products including, but not limited to, design, fabrication, startup, and technical support for automation cells and associated equipment. Establishes short-range plans and objectives within scope of organization-wide policies and common goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the work of contractors in accordance with project requirements.
  • Design engineering systems for the automation of industrial tasks.
  • Create mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies, or finished products.
  • Maintain technical project files.
  • Analyze existing development or manufacturing procedures and suggest improvements.
  • Implement or test design solutions.
  • Identify and select materials appropriate for mechatronic, mechanical system designs.
  • Create mechanical models and tolerance analyses to simulate mechatronic, mechanical design concepts.
  • Upgrade the design of existing devices by adding mechatronic, mechanical elements.
  • Design advanced precision equipment for accurate or controlled applications.
  • Design, develop, or implement control circuits or algorithms for electromechanical or pneumatic devices or systems.
  • Conduct studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new mechatronic, mechanical equipment.
  • Apply mechatronic, mechanical or automated solutions to the transfer of materials, components, or finished goods.
  • Monitor or calibrate automated systems or system components to maximize efficiency of production.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
  • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
  • Use correct P.P.E per JHAs and Job Descriptions; required to wear safety shoes with the standard F2412 and F2413 rating.
  • Individuals trained in NFPA 70E Arch Flash are required to wear electrical hazard safety shoes with the F2412EH and F2413EH rating.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System.
  • Responsible for own work and normally direct or mentor other personnel, primarily instructor show another employee best work practices to ensure compliance with all company initiatives.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations; Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
