Job Description

Job Overview
Responsible for overseeing all accounting related operations of a construction project, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of project accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Budget & Schedule of Values Creation, Reallocations & Tracking
  • Project Invoicing & Pay Application/Draws Monthly and keep spay app tracker updated.
  • Review Consultant and GC billings, back up receipts, etc. for approval and submission to Owner.
  • Follows TG Project Accounting Procedures.
  • Manages Project Budget/GL.
  • Provide PMs and Clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.
  • Preparing actual cost to date reports and pre-billing reports for PM review prior to draws.
  • Monitoring receivable income, updating cashflow, and supporting project managers with collections.
  • Ensuring a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner.
  • Project Lien Waivers and prelim notice tracking, and creation as required for project and payments

Management Duties

  • Oversee the operations company's goals and objectives
  • Review and create policies and procedures including billing, payments, asset tracking, project costing, and inventory management
  • Creating, evolving, implementing new forms, processes, and procedures to streamline and create efficiencies in the company in all areas

Reporting Duties:

  • Monthly Draw Package & Draw Summary Report
  • Monthly Budget Summary Report
  • Change Order & Contingency Tracking Logs
  • Any other reports required by PM, Client, Ownership, or lenders

Competencies
Requires demonstrated leadership abilities and a broad knowledge of construction methods, materials, and systems. A College Bachelor’s Education is required. Project Accountant is accountable for the accounting operations of the construction projects, assisting with accuracy of the reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Must have good people skills and integrity. Experience in the construction industry is required.
