Position Summary
The Welder/Rebar Fabricator supports Concast’s precast concrete production process by cutting, bending, preparing, and spot-welding rebar cages used to reinforce concrete products. This is a hands-on production role that requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role is a good fit for someone with welding, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or industrial experience who enjoys practical, physical work and takes pride in building quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
Rebar Fabrication & Welding
- Cut and bend rebar and wire to specified lengths
- Produce templates for reinforcement cages
- Spot-weld cages together on molds and at workstations
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to cages as needed
- Prepare reinforcement components used in precast concrete products
Equipment Operation
- Operate benders, cutters, spot welders, and related production equipment
- Operate an industrial fork truck as needed
- Clean workstations, tools, and equipment after use
- Remove loose materials, including metal shavings and wire clippings
Quality & Safety
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Ensure cages are built accurately according to production needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate issues or concerns to supervisors or team members
Teamwork & Production Support
- Work with production team members to meet daily goals
- Support other production tasks as assigned
- Maintain flexibility as priorities change throughout the day
What We’re Looking For:
- Welding, fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience preferred
- Ability to cut, bend, measure, and assemble materials accurately
- Familiarity with welding equipment or willingness to learn specific equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Commitment to workplace safety
Preferred but not required:
- 6 months to 1 year of welding or fabrication experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift experience
- Experience with rebar, wire, cages, concrete products, or production welding
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk throughout the shift
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for cutting, bending, welding, and fabrication tasks
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and carrying of 25–50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting or moving of more than 50 lbs. with assistance as needed
- Frequent work near moving mechanical parts and production equipment
- Exposure to loud and very loud manufacturing environments
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid conditions, and outdoor weather conditions
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or balancing as job tasks require
Pay & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $24.00 – $26.00/hour based on experience and qualifications
