Job Description
The Field Service Planner manages the full lifecycle of field service projects from the moment a Purchase Order (PO) is received to final reporting. This role ensures flawless project execution by handling site reviews, logistics, equipment coordination, and stakeholder meetings. The ideal candidate balances meticulous logistical planning with the agility to step into the field for project estimation or direct supervision when needed.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Execution
-Review job sites immediately upon receiving verified Purchase Orders to assess specific logistical requirements.
-Develop comprehensive project plans detailing timelines, scope, resource allocation, and key deliverables.
-Secure rental equipment and tools required for each project, ensuring timely on-site delivery.
-Align with supervisors through structured pre-project briefings to review scope and operational strategy.
Communication & Meeting Management
-Lead project planning meetings with field supervision, Regional Field Service Manager, Staffing Coordinator, Tooling Logistics Coordinator and sometimes clients roughly one week prior to mobilization.
-Coordinate real-time adjustments and additional resource needs with supervisors during active operations.
-Facilitate post-project follow-up meetings to evaluate performance, document lessons learned, and confirm client satisfaction.
Reporting & Quality Assurance
-Conduct project follow-ups to verify that work met quality standards and client expectations.
-Enforce report compliance by ensuring all field reports are accurately completed and distributed to stakeholders.
-Evaluate upcoming opportunities to assist the sales and management teams with accurate estimations and quotes.
-Provide field supervision during peak operational periods or when the primary supervision team is stretched.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
-Experience: 3+ years in field service coordination, project planning, or a related industrial/technical role.
-Logistics Acumen: Proven ability to manage equipment rentals, vendor timelines, and resource scheduling.
-Leadership: Strong meeting facilitation skills and the confidence to supervise field teams when required.
-Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for clear coordination between field crews, supervisors, and clients.
-Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt plans quickly in response to changing field conditions or sudden resource gaps.
