  • Manage database security, availability, monitoring, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct SQL Server health checks, identify performance issues, and provide recommendations for optimization and operational improvement.
  • Execute database migrations and upgrades across legacy servers and SQL Server versions, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and validation.
  • Deploy, configure, secure, back up, and maintain Azure SQL databases and integrate Azure database resources with other Azure services.
  • Develop and deploy database schemas across development, testing, and production environments, including logical and physical data modeling.
  • Maintain database structures, tables, relationships, indexes, normalization, and other core database components.
  • Support Data Warehouse, Data Mart, and Power BI environments, with Power BI administration experience considered an important advantage.
  • Apply and support high-availability solutions such as SQL Server Always On.
  • Analyze and resolve database-related technical issues while maintaining established database standards, procedures, and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers on technical requirements, implementations, releases, and database-related activities.
  • Track issues, risks, dependencies, and action items; estimate effort; coordinate assigned activities; and provide regular project and status updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve database processes, operational efficiency, reliability, and overall service delivery.
  • Complete assigned work within required timelines while working independently with limited supervision and contributing effectively as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration is required.
  • 4+ years of experience administering production server databases is required.
  • 3+ years of data analytics experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of Azure database administration experience is required.

  • Experience with Azure SQL Database administration and database modernization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting Data Warehouse, Data Mart, ETL, data migration, database modeling, and data validation activities.
  • Experience with Power BI environments is highly desirable, particularly Power BI administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Always On or other high-availability technologies is desirable.
  • Business systems analysis and design experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and professional customer-service skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers, business teams, vendors, and service providers while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, combined with a proactive approach to identifying technical and operational improvements.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while remaining an effective contributor within a team.
  • Ability to work the required schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Candidates in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area are preferred, although the position is remote.

  • Opportunity to work with SQL Server, Azure SQL, Data Warehouse, Data Mart, Power BI, and high-availability technologies.
  • Exposure to database modernization, migration, performance optimization, security, and enterprise production operations.
