Location: All Stars Project of New York, National Staff
Job Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hybrid
Reports to: Assistant Director of Data Management
Salary Range: $55,000–60,000/annualized ($26.45–28.85/hour)

Job Summary

The Database and Development Lead (Lead) is a member of the national All Stars Project (ASP) development team, supporting fundraising operations and database administration for this successful, privately funded organization. Working with the database and fundraising operations team, the Lead will support day-to-day donor administration, including producing donor acknowledgments and processing gifts. The Lead will also coordinate and support the operational/database needs of fundraising events in all markets. As a core member of the development team, the Lead aids in meeting ASP’s fundraising goals by supporting the administrative needs of the national team led by the Chief Development Officer.

The Database and Development Lead reports to the Assistant Director of Data Management and works closely with fellow members of the database and fundraising operations team. The position is hybrid and requires in-person attendance in the ASP NY regional office(s).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in a variety of data activities associated with processing gifts and maintaining constituent records, including processing of returned mail, reviewing data requests, creating new records, and processing address changes, as well as corporate relationship information.
  • Serve as the primary lead in processing contributions (checks, online gifts, and credit card transactions) daily and work with the team to ensure that pledges and gifts are recorded accurately.
  • Manage the acknowledgment letter process (including all inventory of necessary materials, such as letterhead, envelopes, and postage) for gifts in all markets, in coordination with national fundraisers.
  • Produce daily income reports and manage all responses.
  • Manage the master email lists and create lists for all email campaigns within the online digital and email marketing platform (currently Constant Contact) and the donor database (currently Raiser’s Edge (NXT).
  • Manage the import of program data (students, alumni, interns, and corporate volunteers).
  • Manage data needs related to special segments in the database, including data entry, import of new constituents, and creating exports of lists for staff and ASP leaders.
  • Lead the fundraising administration of the national gala, including use of the event module, as well as Fall events as determined by the database team.
  • Lead and train volunteer registration teams at fundraising events.
  • Support and execute other assignments as directed by the Assistant Director of Data Management or other Development department leaders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in Raiser’s Edge 7 and Raiser’s Edge NXT (or similar), including data administration tools.
  • Experience with data analytics tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and motivated.
  • Understanding of poverty-related issues and a commitment to creating educational and developmental opportunities for underserved youth outside of school contexts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on small, highly collaborative teams.
  • Ability to lead groups of volunteers.
  • Working knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Excellent administrative and computer skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Discretion and sensitivity in handling and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Flexibility in schedule – some evenings are required for special events or other activities during peak season.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, carry, or move objects to set up for meetings, events, workshops, etc.
