Job Description
Reporting to and supporting the Controller, the Payroll/Accounts Payable Coordinator will play a key role in managing the day-to-day payroll operations of the business while providing backup support for Accounts Payable.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting and payroll professional who enjoys working with numbers, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The role will be primarily responsible for full-cycle payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, payroll reconciliations, and resolving payroll-related inquiries, while providing backup coverage for Accounts Payable and supporting other Finance team activities as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payments;
- Review timesheets, overtime, premiums, vacation, statutory holiday pay, and other payroll inputs;
- Process payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, benefits, and deductions;
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries;
- Prepare and maintain payroll records, including ROEs, T4s, remittances, and other statutory reporting;
- Complete payroll and benefits reconciliations, journal entries, and payroll-related accounting activities;
- Work closely with HR and Operations to ensure accurate employee information and payroll processing;
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, coding, vendor payments, and reconciliations;
- Assist with month-end close, year-end audit preparation, and other accounting activities as required;
- Support improvements to payroll and accounting processes, controls, and SOPs.

- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP), Business Administration, or a related field;
- 2+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, including hourly employees;
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll, including overtime, vacation pay, statutory holidays, taxes, benefits, and deductions;
- Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory reporting requirements;
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, QuickBooks Online and/or ServiceTitan is strongly preferred;
- Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations;
- Familiarity with ROEs, T4s, and statutory remittances;
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or another project-based environment is considered an asset;
- Strong Excel, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
