Chelsea Lighting is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team of lighting and controls distribution professionals
Qualifications:
- College Graduate – four-year preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years electrical/lighting estimating experience required
- Must have the ability to be thorough in your work, accuracy is a necessity, can meet deadlines, and successfully work in a demanding environment
- The ideal candidate must have superior time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and utilize these skills in a multi-tasking environment
- Must have experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, architectural sketches, and other related construction documents including detailed take-offs
- Strong quantitative and analytical math skills
- Knowledgeable in OnScreen Takeoff software
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams)
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze bid packages and construction documents
- Prepare an in-depth takeoff of lighting and lighting controls based on drawings and specifications
- Issue comprehensive Requests For Information (RFIs) for unclear information found in project drawings and specifications.
- Ensure no scope gap/s during the bidding process
- Review factory/rep quotations to ensure all scope is captured and accurate
- Develop complete quotation based upon drawings, specifications, bid clarifications, alternates, and qualifications/exclusions
- Analyze job being quoted and develop strategies for client proposals
- Identify and/or perform value engineering opportunities and proposals
- Complete scope/leveling sheets in coordination with Account Executives
- Attend client meetings and participate in pre-construction activities as required
- Develop vendor relationships and product knowledge
- Verify product pricing into quote software (OASIS)
- Ensure project files are organized for both hard-copy and/or in system
- Conduct analysis of peer’s estimates for accuracy and completeness
- Help train and develop junior estimators
- Complete ad hoc assignments as directed by Senior Management
