Horizons Youth Services at Milwaukee Job Corps is seeking an experienced, energetic, dynamic, talented candidate for the full-time position of Records Supervisor at our Milwaukee Job Corps Center. Job Summary: Directs, implements, and supervises all aspects and functions of student records and accountability in accordance with government and management directives, while providing quality services to students. Directly supervises records clerk.

Duties:

  • Serves as the gatekeeper of all applicant files, monitoring the input of students ‘records and credentials, and supervising/evaluating personnel under his/her management regarding performance, disciplinary actions, and promotions.
  • Ensures the updated status of all pending arrivals in CIS to inform OA and center management.
  • Schedules sufficient arrivals to achieve and maintain contracted design capacity (On-Board Strength) through collaboration with OA contractors in geographic assignment plan (GAP).
  • Ensures morning accountability checks are received, certified, and daily morning reports are made available to all department in a timely manner and collaborates with counselors in returning absent (without permission) students back to the Center.
  • Develops and distributes various reports such as the morning report, OMS projections, pending arrivals, projected separations, and other reports, as requested by management.
  • Coordinates commercial transportation needs of students in compliance with the PRH and Department of Labor Manual Series – DLMS 7 – Travel Management.
  • Establish and implement a system to provide clothing allowances for students in the amounts indicated and according to the time schedule shown in the PRH. Records shall include a signed receipt for all clothing allowances issued to the student.
  • Establish and implement a uniform system for issuing student personal allowances and transition allowances earned through participation and achievement.
  • Implement safeguards to assure that personal information about individual students is secure, in accordance with the Student Rights to Privacy and Disclosure of Information.
  • Participates in staff training and performs other duties as assigned, within the employee’s capabilities.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Strong management and leadership skills required.

Experience: One-year supervisory experience required, and knowledge of Microsoft applications required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED, Bachelors’ Degree preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Drivers’ License.
