The Associate Medical Director will support the development of high-quality medical communications programs across healthcare and life sciences projects.
This role combines scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to translate complex clinical information into impactful content.
You will collaborate with senior scientific teams, healthcare experts, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate and engaging medical materials.

Accountabilities:

The Associate Medical Director will provide scientific guidance and content development support across assigned medical communications and publications projects. Working closely with senior scientific leaders, clients, and external experts, this role ensures that all deliverables are accurate, strategically aligned, and relevant to healthcare audiences.

  • Develop and review scientifically accurate medical communications materials, ensuring alignment with current clinical evidence and industry standards.
  • Analyze and interpret complex medical documents, clinical trial data, and scientific literature to create meaningful insights for healthcare professionals and audiences.
  • Conduct literature reviews and stay informed on advances, trends, and developments within relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Collaborate with healthcare experts and key opinion leaders to gather insights and provide scientific resources for projects.
  • Support the development of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, white papers, monographs, and other medical content.
  • Participate in advisory boards, investigator meetings, and client discussions to support strategic communication objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality project execution and effective communication.
  • Edit and quality-check medical materials created by writers and freelancers, maintaining scientific accuracy and consistency.
  • Help manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring advanced scientific knowledge, excellent communication abilities, and experience working within medical communications or related healthcare environments. You should be comfortable managing complex information, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and delivering high-quality work in a deadline-driven setting.

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacology, medicine, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience within a medical communications agency or a comparable healthcare communications environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, scientific literature, and pharmaceutical industry developments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear and engaging content.
  • Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals, clients, and scientific experts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in scientific content development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes and deliverables.
