Key Account Manager-Cardiology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Key Account Manager-Cardiology based in United States.

This role is responsible for driving commercial growth across an assigned territory within the cardiology market.
You will develop and execute territory strategies aligned with broader marketing and sales objectives to maximize business performance.
The position combines consultative selling, clinical education, account development, and stakeholder relationship management.
You will engage with healthcare professionals and decision-makers across hospitals, health systems, cardiac programs, and purchasing organizations.
Your expertise will help customers understand the clinical and economic value of advanced cardiology solutions while addressing their operational needs.
Working cross-functionally with marketing, medical affairs, sales leadership, and external partners, you will identify challenges and develop effective solutions.
This is a high-impact field-based opportunity for an experienced healthcare sales professional who can build trust, influence decisions, and deliver measurable results.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory business plan aligned with commercial and marketing strategies, with a strong focus on achieving sales objectives.
  • Identify customer needs, overcome objections, communicate value effectively, and advance opportunities through the sales process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across healthcare settings, including sonographers, medical directors, technical directors, pharmacy leaders, purchasing teams, and other decision-makers.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of cardiology, clinical applications, competitors, market dynamics, and relevant healthcare trends, applying this knowledge during customer engagements.
  • Communicate the clinical and economic value of products to financial and operational stakeholders within local and regional health systems.
  • Provide reimbursement-related support and manage local contracting activities when appropriate.
  • Deliver education on echo contrast applications to cardiology fellowship programs and cardiac ultrasound schools.
  • Partner with marketing, medical affairs, sales management, and other internal teams to identify business challenges, prioritize opportunities, and develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving marketing resources, training programs, sales strategies, and analytics tools.
  • Participate actively in sales meetings, virtual and in-person customer engagements, conferences, training sessions, and other relevant business activities.
  • Consistently demonstrate accountability, quality, customer service, efficiency, collaboration, and safety in all professional activities.
  • Maintain a compliant and ethical approach to customer engagement, business development, and product promotion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited four-year college or university is required.
  • 5+ years of proven successful sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or a comparable healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships, uncover needs, communicate clinical and economic value, and influence purchasing decisions.
  • Strong clinical and commercial understanding, with the ability to present complex healthcare information in a compelling and persuasive manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business challenges, develop practical strategies, and implement solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Office applications, customer relationship management systems, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Hospital sales experience is preferred.
  • Previous cardiovascular sales experience and/or clinical cardiology experience is highly desirable.
  • An established network of contacts within local healthcare organizations is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
  • Willingness to travel overnight based on business needs, including customer visits, industry events, displays, conferences, and mandatory in-person training.
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend work when required.
  • Ability to reside within the assigned territory, specifically the Sacramento or San Jose area.
  • Ability to meet established customer engagement and call activity metrics, including both in-person and virtual interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license, qualified vehicle, and appropriate automobile insurance are required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required credentialing for access to healthcare facilities, including facility-specific vaccination and health requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, collaboration, adaptability, and taking ownership of business outcomes.
