Store Manager in Coronado, California at Shop Bikini Bird Corp

The Bikinibird Coronado Store Manager is one of the most important roles in our company. This is Bikinibird's first boutique outside of Hawaii, set inside The Hotel Del, one of the most iconic resort destinations in the country, with high visibility from ownership, management, vendors, and hotel partners.

With our corporate office in Honolulu, this person is our leader on the ground in California. We are looking for someone we can trust completely: highly organized, self-directed, and ready to run the store as an owner would. This role offers tremendous opportunity, and the right person will have real room to grow with this location and with Bikinibird on the mainland.

The Bikinibird store manager is a dynamic, hands-on retail leader who can build a loyal clientele from the ground up, deliver the elevated, personal service our resort guests expect, and carry Bikinibird’s island-born aesthetic and voice authentically to a new coastal market .

Responsibilities:

• Run the store as an owner would, protecting margin, controlling expenses, and making decisions with the long-term health of the business in mind
• Work independently across the time difference with Honolulu, using sound judgment on day-to-day decisions and knowing when to escalate
• Keep the corporate team informed with clear, consistent reporting on sales, staffing, inventory, and store issues
• Ensure strategic goals and sales targets are met by maximizing sales and gross profit, reviewing sales performance, and managing inventory
• Build and maintain the systems that keep the store running smoothly, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, cash handling, and receiving
• Drive customer service excellence in every aspect of the store, including store appearance, display of merchandise, product placement, store layout, and selling procedures
• Serve as Bikinibird's ambassador in California, keeping the store experience true to our island lifestyle and aesthetic
• Build a client book through personalized outreach, styling, and follow-up to create loyal, repeat guests
• Build a strong working relationship with Hotel del Coronado management, concierge, and on-site partners, and identify opportunities to grow the business through events and partnerships at the property
• Hire, train, develop, and supervise staff, providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations
• Coordinate daily staffing and schedules to match store traffic, events, and hotel occupancy
• Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time, including personnel paperwork, reports, sales receipts, and cash reconciliation
• Monitor stock and inventory, perform regular quality checks on merchandise, and communicate proactively with the buying team
• Manage loss prevention procedures and work with management to monitor security cameras for suspicious activity and potential theft

Qualifications for Store Manager

• 3-5 years of retail management experience and a college degree preferred
• Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills
• Experience with interviewing, hiring and evaluating candidates, and assessing employee performance
• Familiarity with Shopify, social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest etc), Google analytics
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products in order to perform and cover all workfloor duties
• Able to give clear directions and set expectations for staff
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example
